The initial Android 15 developer previews were released in February and March. We are well into the beta phase, with the public beta launching in April. Despite May’s Google I/O conference focusing more on AI features than Android, we still received a second beta release. (Check out our favorite Android 15 features as of the second public beta.)
From this point forward, we can expect Google to focus more on platform stability rather than adding major new features. Subsequent beta releases will likely include bug fixes and other behind-the-scenes changes as we approach the final release.
However, this timeline is not set in stone. Issues with Android 15, such as the late April fix for broken NFC functions and other bugs, could cause delays and push these dates back by an unspecified amount.
